CATRIONA ROWBOTHAM ARCHITECTURE

Catriona Rowbotham

Catriona Rowbotham Architecture was formed in 2007. Catriona works as a sole practitioner and is a RIBA registered chartered architect. Through working for medium sized design led practices in London since 1997, Catriona has gained experience in a  number of sectors, follow links to experience page for further details

Practice Focus

Focus is on the extension and refurbishment of houses. Strengths are an in depth experience of working with London housing stock;  from Listed Georgian townhouse to Victorian terrace to the 1930's semi,  successful experience in gaining planning permission in conservation areas and additional training in sustainable refurbishment.

Practice Aims

Catriona aims to distill her knowledge and experience into an approachable and personal service to each client. Solutions to each project will be specific to the needs and desires of the client and the physical constraints of the site. Each scheme will form a clear, appropriate and simple response to these requirements. The practice aims to provide spaces that feel solid, reassuring and timeless, using quality materials and crisp detailing. In this way, quietly contemporary designs are formed, that are robust enough to cope with the inevitable mess of everyday life.

Since the formation of the practice, Catriona has also sought to develop a long held interest in sustainability and now endeavours to help clients make the most of current government initiatives. See CRA & Sustainablility for further details.

In short, the architecture produced aims to provide spaces that facilitate the art of living well.
