 The scheme allows for a side and rear extension at ground level to create a new dining space with direct access to an external dining space, a new family room,with direct access to the garden, and a new kitchen, downstairs WC and utility room. At second floor level, the new extension will create an additional bedroom, allowing separation of the first and second floors into an adult floor and a children's floor.

A simple palette of brick to match the existing, aluminium framed fully opening sliding folding doors at ground level, and zinc cladding to the second floor extension  ensure that the extensions, although clearly contemporary in their form, do not offend the original architecture.
